| 1. Launch. All downloads and CDs automatically launch which prevents most tech support problems. Some products take a moment longer because they go right into startup mode: in other words, there is nothing to install on your hard drive and the files do not have to "initialize" your hard drive.
If your download or CD does not auto launch, it means that you have accidentally disabled the "AutoStart" feature of your PC. To start your download or CD manually please follow the directions below:
- From your desktop click on the Start menu and then click on Run .
- Click on Browse and select your CD-ROM drive from the dropdown list or click on your download icon.
- Select the Setup.exe file on the CD-ROM or on your download icon.
- Click on Open , then click on OK .
- Then follow the installation instructions.
Tip: One of the most inexpensive ways to improve performance for your computer software is to purchase additional memory for your PC. See your local computer retailer to buy and install this additional memory.
2. Windows Conflicts. In some cases downloads and CDs such as Typefonts, which must be installed, resist installing due to system conflicts on your PC. The good news is this problem "alerts" you to a Windows issue; the bad news is you have to click on the "ignore" button to install or move forward and use your download or CD.
If you are on a network, you must get network permission to install. This is an administrator issue. Even networks of one! sometimes require this. In corporate networks it is especially required, and for many good reasons. Contact your IT manager if this happens to you.
3. How to Advice. How to advice is consulting and we are not consultants. However, just grabbing a more experienced user can often help you get more out of each download or CD, especially products like Simply Money, Typefonts, Legal Forms, and/or Home Repair. Overall our products are easy to use. After all, Classic TV Commercials and The Three Stooges are just TV commercials and The Stooges!
